WorldWide Saw premium quality bi-metal metal cutting bandsaw blades are made of M42 high speed steel for high production and fast metal cutting. They are heat-treated to Rc 67-69 for improved wear, heat and shock resistance. Our blades use high chrome/alloy spring steel backing for superior fatigue performance and durability. Because we only manufacture metal cuting band saw blades, our technical expertise and application experience are among the most helpful in the industy. We recommend that you review our "Bandsaw Blades 101 FAQ's" below to help you tune your saw. In our catalog is a TPI selection chart that is a cut above the rest. You will probably want to print that chart for future reference. It will be invaluable to you in helping you choose the proper TPI (teeth per inch) for the material(s) you will be cutting. You'll notice that we recommend a variable tooth blade in most applications. Vari-tooth blades typically outperform constant tooth in nearly all applications except some very difficult tube sawing circumstances. Our philosophy is to start with a variable tooth blade and go to constant pitch if all else fails.

M42 Variable Pitch Bi-Metal Blades:
Usage: Variable pitch teeth are the blade of choice for most applications, especially when the materials to be cut vary in size and shape. Variable pitch blades also cut smoother, faster and reduce noise and cutting vibrations. Noise and vibration are signs that a saw is not tuned properly or the wrong TPI is being used. In sizes under 1-2", if the material thickness varies by more than 1/4" to 1/2" you may want to use different TPI's for each thickness in order to improve productivity, cut finish and blade life.

M42 Straight (Constant) Pitch Bi-Metal Blades, zero rake angle:
Usage: Straight pitch, zero rake teeth are used mainly when tooth breakage on a variable pitch blade is a problem, which may happen when cutting thin cross sections on hard to cut material. We often suggest using a 14 or 18 TPI constant pitch blade if the variable tooth blade is having problems in these type of applications.
